in the ensuing month, i’ve had a birthday, lost something i loved very much, almost lost my vacation, participated in the passage of legislation, and appreciated everything that i am and that i have.

last year, we got a cockatiel for dan. he died, then we got another one. we got a friend for him and the second one we had just died. the deaths were tragic….it amazes me that something can be so loving, and yet fragile. snuffed out in an instant, and yet so capable of bringing joy and love to people. here’s the most recent new baby, kilo:
at this time next week, i will be in ireland. pretty excited about that, and yet, it almost didn’t happen. sometimes i wonder if the universe is asking me how much i want stuff.
